主題：Fingerprinting of Liquids（液體的“指紋”）
內容簡介：This presentation will discuss the development of an acoustic emission system at Kingston University London for the identification and fingerprinting of liquids.
The system is based on interrogating ultrasonically a liquid drop that is grown on the end of a drop head, so small sample volumes only are required for testing. The liquid can be delivered by a pump or under a fixed pressure head. This device provides excellent performance in distinguishing pure liquids or mixtures of liquids, for example one type of lager from another, or different kinds of soft drink. Signal processing aspects, such as the use of a processing pipeline involving the use of Fourier Transforms, Wavelet Analysis and Principal Component Analysis to characterise each liquid, will be described.
Their potential for future development will also be discussed.

英國金斯頓大學工程與計算學院全職終身教授、博士生導師Andy Augousti，1981年獲得帝國理工學院物理學（理學）學士學位，1985年獲得肯特大學膠體粒子理論研究的博士學位，1985-1988年在倫敦城市大學測量與儀器中心做博士后研究員，1994年獲得英國國家測量與控制技術專家（MInstMC）稱號，2009年獲得中國天津大學校長獎，2011年獲得霍尼韋爾“測量與控制領域杰出貢獻”國際獎章。現擔任英國物理研究所的儀器科學和技術委員會主席、兼任英國工程技術研究所以及測量與控制研究所的研究員。
Andy Augousti教授的研究興趣主要集中在：用于測量溫度，旋轉和扭矩以及呼吸和心臟監測的光纖傳感器研究、呼吸及視覺光學模型建立；用于液體識別和表征的分析儀器數學建模等光學和聲學測量領域研究工作。Andy Augousti教授曾獲得哈德斯菲爾德大學航空航天技術研究所的10萬英鎊EPSRC資助，用于研究微觀特征、溝槽和納米涂層技術對分布式推進系統空氣動力學特性的影響；他曾獲得英國企業資助的￡40.6萬英鎊，用于研究和開發使用光子晶體纖維進行移動健康監測的非侵入式門診呼吸和心臟監測系統。
Andy Augousti教授在130多種重要期刊和會議發表過高水平論文，他組織、主持了50多次英國全國性學術會議，并編輯了5卷會議論文集。他在世界許多地方擁有研究合作者，包括中國、印度、波蘭、愛爾蘭、法國、德國，日本、烏克蘭等。他還為英國國家物理實驗室、英國物理研究所及其法國，中國和印度等國家的多所大學開設了有關傳感器測量的短期專業課程。
